Finding motivation with a thyroid that gives me no energy!

Wondered if anyone else is in the same boat as myself? I have an under-active thyroid which was diagnosed several years ago. I take tablets for it but i've never really noticed any difference in my energy levels. My brain would love to exercise but the legs and body say not. Im not overweight (yet!) but as i have now just hit 43 i think that unless i start to do something the weight may start to pile on making things even more difficult.

Any advice appreciated.

You should have your levels checked about every 3 months or so. When I get my levels at a good level (when I actually take my meds) then I can feel a difference. You may want to take to a nutritionist as well. I used to work with a nutritionist and dietitian and she always told me that when someone has thyroid issues, then they need to have their adrenals checked as well. That thyroid issues usually come hand in hand with adrenal fatigue.

I don't believe that that is a popular belief, but she was one that I always trusted. Sometimes more than doctors.

Edited to add: adrenal fatigue has not been proven, but it does make sense to me. Especially the way we live our lives these days :)
