How to Calculate Calories Burned

I am looking for some help. I just got a heart monitor (Polar FT4 ) and love it so far. I also have a fit bit that I wear all day.
My question is:
I noticed that if I keep my fit bit on when I work out they count it twice (I manually entered the calories burned from my Polar) and if I take it off and enter my calories burned manually it messes up my calories burned from my fit bit to my MyFitnessPa app.. I have my fitbit connected to MyFitnessPal since I ate back my calories that I burn. Yesterday I didn't enter my calories that I burned but showing that I ate too many calories is killing me.
How have other people entered their calories burned when using Polar FT4 and Fit Bit? I really want base my workout off of the Polar since that is probably more accurate than my fit bit,

For most workouts, neither one will be particularly accurate.0
