i can't believe that December is half over already! time is flying. flying fast! (and for those of you that are younger...time goes so much faster the older you get. your parents were not fibbing to you)
are you happy with what you have accomplished this year? as i think about 2010, i realize that i have come a long way this year. last January i wore a size 18 and weighed 177 pounds. now i am 142.6 and in 8's and 10's. wooohoo. i'm excited for the overall progress.
however i have allowed life to get in the way way to much this fall. i've maintained instead of moved forward in my progress. while i mostly like what i see in the mirror and my pant size, i still have work to do.
so here i am, on the 16th of December re-committing to my health. i'm not waiting till Jan 1st, or when i get my new ChaLEAN Extreme workout in the mail. i am starting today. now.
why do we feel like we must wait till Jan 1st, or the first Monday of the year, or till the day after_______. if it is a lifestyle change, it can start now. and will continue throughout your life.
cheering you all on to a healthy lifestyle. today and always!

I've just finished law school exams for the semester - and that's easily 2 months of maintenance - along with 2 colds. And frankly, I gained about 2.5 pounds, but I'm pretty proud that I didn't gain more!
My goal for the last bit of the year is to finish decorating, clean my house from top to bottom, and start exercising again for at *least* an hour a day. That, and simplify. Simplify, simplify, simplify.
Has anyone else found a MUCH lower connection with material things since we've been on this journey? I can't wait to get my stuff back to VA so I can have a yard sale!0 -
Well said, Jane! I'm with you...Why wait for January 1st?! Let's recommit every day to a healthy lifestyle!
Last year at this time, I weighed 143.8 lbs......Today I was 128.6 lbs......That's a 15.2 lb. difference!!! I keep getting down on myself for not losing any more weight (I'm still 8.6 lb. from my goal). BUT, I need to remember that I've shed a good chunk of fat in the past year!
So, one of my goals (which I'm reaffirming here and now) is to eat less refined foods and more "clean" foods. More raw veggies and fruits, more lean meats, more whole foods. I am not a big fan of fast food anyway, but I have a real craving for sweets on a daily basis. SO, I'm trying to gain more control over those cravings, too.0 -
You know as I reflect on this year, I can say I'm okay with the weightloss I've achieved. It could be alot better if work hadn't gotten in the way these last couple of months. I started 2010 at 172lbs and now I'm 144, almost 30 lbs. I feel better than I have in years about my weight. But I know this isn't the end, its a journey that never ends. I'm having foot surgery January 7th so I know its going to be a challenge to maintain the weightloss. So for the next couple of weeks I'm going to try and go real hard.0

As I reflect back over the last yr I realized I didn't make many positive changes as I would have like to but through all of the ups and downs I was able to pretty much maintained my weight during this time. So I guess my hard work has paid off and kept me on level ground but now it is time to finish what I have started and that change starts today thanks for the great post. No time like the present to get things done!!0

Law school is NOT easy...way to go!
and YES...my life has gotten much simpler now that i am not focused on how much i can have and want. (even in these times, most of us don't NEED more of anything, esp if you are no the internet daily, we have more than we need)
letting go of stuff that just needs cleaned, hasn't been used in months/years is WAY more easier when i am focused on the basic foods than when i am over indulging. the heart attitude spills over into all areas of my life.
thanks for the reminder!0 -

removing the junk foods and eating cleaner has made SOOO much difference in my attitude, as well as my fitness/scales. what we eat DOES matter. a BUNCH!
cheering you on!0
