Working out and decreased appetite?

Hey everyone,

So I've been modifying my diet and increasing my exercise for about a week now and have noticed my appetite has really changed. I've always done at least 4 miles of walking a day (I work to and from work) and my appetite (or cravings) were threw the roof. Now that I'm lifting (3Xs a week) and doing intense cardio (kick boxing and Jillian Michaels) (1/2 hr..6Xs a week) I've noticed that I have issues eating hours later. For some reason I'm just not as hungry as I used to be. Has anyone else experienced this?

Today, I was expecting to be very hungry after my workout (5 hours ago) and pre-logged my lunch. All I could eat was a cup of mac & cheese (my real lunch is still in my work fridge). If this has happened to you before, is it temporary?

Thanks a million!!

Not sure why it happens, but i had the same thing yesterday. After a body pump class & zumba I actually had to make myself eat more at the end of the day so I would meet my calorie intake!

I notice that intense cardio always dampens my appetite for one or two hours. I work out right after work, and often notice I go into the gym with a starchy carby craving. After my workout I have no appetite for at least an hour. But then my craving changes to a meaty protein one. I don't understand this. Perhaps some effect of exercise on blood glucose?

That's weird, because I think exercising makes me EXTRA hungry.

Stress makes me lose my appetite.
