How bad do you want it?

Sometimes I have to wonder how bad I actually want to lose weight.

I know that exercise is necessary, but I don't do it regularly. I'm either too busy, too tired, or I assume I was active enough.
I know sugar is bad for me, but I have chocolate almost every day. It's just a little bit, most of the time.
I know drinking alcohol sabotages my efforts to lose weight, but I have my nightly cocktail. Red wine is good for you, I've heard.
I know grain makes me sick, but I'll have a piece of bread several times a week. I bake it and it just smells so good fresh out of the oven.

If rationalizations were the key to dieting, I'd be at my goal weight by now.
But they aren't.
Effort is the key.
And on a scale of 1-10 I'm giving it about a 5 effort-wise.
So .... How bad do I want it?

That's my confession.

Hello.

Thanks for your honest confession! I can totally relate! I have been a rationalizer and justifier for 40+ years. And it seems weird that at 53, I am finally trying to get myself together to stop the justifying and excuse making and do what I need to do for myself!! I have a long way to go and maybe by the time I am 55, I will have the body I have always wanted!! God bless you!!!
