I just had a 1/2 cup of mandarin chicken salad from the local grocery store. I have no idea how to calculate it or input it?

Sometimes you can look up the exact meal you had and select it. But then you have to rely that the info/ingredients are correct. Most times if the place I get the food from doesn't have a nutrition menu then I look up the ingredients individually. Pain I know! You kinda have to use your best judgement. Like 1/4 cup lettuce, 5 mandarine orange slices, tablespoon nuts, etc.0

There are lots of entries for Mandarin Chicken Salad. I just pick one similar. I generally focus on matching the highest calorie item in it first and everything else is secondary or I tack it on.
I can't tell if you mean this was "chicken salad" like that goopy stuff, or chicken on a salad... if the later you can always enter a general side salad and then log in some chicken and crutons and get an good estimate. I never worry about logging individual veggies into my salad exactly if I eat out because the difference between logging in 3 tom slices vs 2 slices and some shredded carrots... is so minimal, I just log them all under one veggie. Especially when we're talking 1/2 cup of salad the difference is almost non-measurable.
If your talking about the former - chicken salad - just find something that sounds close and know that most days your log won't be 100% accurate anyway.0 -
Its chicken, mandarin oranges, grapes, pasta noodles, almonds and mayo!0

Wow... that sounds.... disgusting
If i can't find something to match, since most the chicken salads are probably actual lettuce salads, I would probably log it separately, or log a chicken salad or chicken pasta salad then add some mandarin oranges and almonds. I would probably skip the grapes and just account for them in the orange entry. Or, I would just quick calorie it if I were lazy (or more likely pick a mandarin chicken salad entry and just adjust the calories to my estimate) at about 450. I'd log high because of the mayo and pasta. That'd be my guess. Who knows how close I would be though0
