Do you set your ticker for mini goals or your overall goals?

I have lost 91 pounds so far, but I have been plateaued since January. I think part of that is lack of motivation. People say I look good, and I am not gaining anything...so I am comfortable now (too comfortable). My ultimate goal when I started out was to get down to 135. I am around 158 right now (up a few pounds but not many from my ticker). I was thinking of putting up a new ticker from 158 to 135 pounds in hopes that seeing that would remotivate me. Any thoughts?

I understand your thought process though it would be hard for me to let go of that big number! Its important for you to make it to your final goal so whatever you have to do to get there, I say go for it! I think it would be pretty motivating to have the ticker be all the way at the beginning again and watch it start moving! I'd start setting some exercise goals and get involved in some challenges on the board to in order to jump start your exercising! :o)

Congratulations though on such an amazing loss!!!

I've lost 84lbs but I just got comfortable and just wasn't trying very hard so i changed my tracker to reflect my current challenge.
    It gave me new focus.

Go for what will get you to your goal
  • Yes, I did mini goals, because if I see a big number I get discouraged. I had a boss that used to say 'how do you eat an elephant? in chunks' :-) he used to say that if we had a huge workload ahead or an impossible goal to accomplish. I think you should stick up a new ticker and give yourself some new goals.
  • i think that's a great idea to remotivate yourself!

That's what I did, after I dropped the 100+++ I restarted my ticker for incentive and it really has helped me a lot. I reached my goal that way. I say go for it:drinker:
