Sugar Free snack???

Hey everyone, I was just wondering when I do grab some sort of snack,is a suger free one a better choice?? I really like the organic newmens own brands and lately I noticed I do go over my suger intake for the day fast..So would this be best?? What do you think?? THANKS

Unless you have a medical reason to track sugar, you can ignore MFP's sugar recommendations. MFP counts all sugar, whether it is added sugar or natural sugar. The recommendations going around now are for added sugars, which can be difficult to track since food packaging does not delineate between natural and added sugars either (for example yogurt with fruit on the bottom - how many grams of sugar are from the fruit itself, and how many from the added sugar in the puree?). And even those recommendations are more about the fact that foods high in sugars also tend to be higher in calories, which can lead to weight gain and various health problems when not consumed in moderation.
There's nothing wrong with low sugar snacks if the food is something you enjoy, just be sure to read the label. Usually when something is taken out to make it "sugar free" "fat free" etc, something else is added in to make it palatable, meaning that what you are eating may not end up being any better for you than the regular full sugar version.0 -
^^^^ What she said. I eat so much fruit I go over on sugar everyday. I would eat the sugar kind, just not too many of them. Or do a bigger workout to compensate.0

Almost all my snacking is fruit, so I vote no on sugar-free only.0

Sometimes when I crave sweets a piece of fruit just doesn't do it for me. I have to watch my sugar intake. Anyone have any suggestions for a sweet fix other than a piece of fruit?

Come on just because she's asking about sugar free snacks doesn't mean she wants to abstain from sugar. Knowing how to scratch that "I wanna eat sweet stuff" itch without blowing through your calorie budget is a good think surely?0 -
