Belly button: deep, red and sore

So after losing some weight I now have a very deep belly button about three inches deep or a little longer even. Almost entire Q-tip. It gets very red and sore in the inside of it. I clean it with hydrogen peroxide but it doesn't seem to be doing the trick. Has anyone else experienced this and if so what do they do to help it. Thanks

Seems odd. The distance in should get shorter, not longer, as you lose. The length of a q-tip is crazy deep.

Yes, I'd use peroxide, too. That's what I've always used while being fat. I don't know if that's the recommended way or what.

I'd for sure see the doctor. If you've been cleaning it and drying it and it's still red, something's up. You might need some powder or whatever.

    Good luck. :)

Once my dog scratched me in mine. She likes to walk on her hind legs nd push me the way she wants me to go! LOL I used triple antibiotic.

I was thinking the same thing.

I had this problem when I was bigger. It disappeared. I actually haven't thought about it in a while, or associated it with my weight. But peroxide always did the trick. I'd just dip a q-tip in it and clean it out. It usually went away after a couple days of doing that.

I think it's because I have so much extra skin around my belly button area. I had lost weight then I had an unexpected death and gained some back but still have extra skin around my middle

If peroxide, keeping it clean and dry aren't helping it get better, I would definitely go to a doctor.

Go to a doctor, this could be any number of things also make a side not if it smells oddly or not. I get a yeast infection there and under boob that come and goes for the entire summer, so I have to clean those areas then apply apply something.
