what is the right workout?

I am 30lbs overweight and a very obvious "pear" shape. I wear a size 8 shirt and size 14 bottoms. Also, have post pregnancy belly pooch to work on. I started Jillian Michaels Body revolution last week and have been trying to mimic her meal plan as best as I can by choosing similar foods. Will it end up balancing my shape out if I stick to it? I have had saddlebags all my life and they get smaller when I lose weight, but never truly go away. I did my weekly weigh in after a week but the scale has not budged, looking to stay motivated.....

You can not spot reduce. You can not target any area through exercise for fat loss.
The best or "right" exercise is whatever one you will stick with in addition to eating at a calorie deficit.
I wish we could choose where we would lose fat from, but alas, we can't. Just workout and eat at a deficit.0
