Newbie from Michigan

I'm new here - in the Grand Rapids area. Mostly just want to maintain, but could lose 5lb from belly. I work out at the local Y 4-6X/week including spin classes, kickboxing, strength/conditioning, and core classes. Now need to get a little more serious about my diet for general good health and performance. Looking forward to meeting some of you in this journey!

    I'm also from MI - nice to meet ya! I attended college at GVSU from '98 - '99 before transferring out. I now live in metro Detroit.

    I just moved from south west michigan (Saugatuck area) to South Carolina a few months ago! Nice to see some Michiganders around here!! Good luck!

    As nice as Saugatuck is, I'm sure u are enjoying the warmer weather! Probly more jobs there too!! Thankfully in my line of work the crappy real estate market has actually made it a banner yr for me (one of the few still making $$ in Mich. it seems!)

    I'm from the TC area too!!!!! Grew up in Cedar, went to high school at St Mary's in Lake Leelanau. Now I'm in Illinois.

    Native Texan but doing my second tour of duty in Michigan and figure I'm here permanently. Lived in Ann Arbor the first time, Royal Oak now.

    They are tough, but i've stuck with them when I didnt feel like it and now a yr later they have actually become fun (but still tough!) Since your nearby, are u interested in Zumba? My wife got certified and is teaching them all over. She has geared them towards those who are, lets just say, no longer 20yr old hip-hoppers. Let me know if you want her info.

    Welcome. I'm from Grand Rapids, too. I also work out at the Y sometimes, but usually work out from home. I work out downtown, which is close to work/home. I, too, have only a few pounds to go, but have become addicted to this site.

    I agree, it is a great school. But there were complications with the program I wanted to major in, so I transferred out to a school in WI. And now I live in the dark side! lol I didn't really want to live here, but you know the old saying..... if you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans. :laugh:

    Well should you ever make the quick trip to Grandville for a class maybe we'll meet! Yeah, I can see it becoming (another) time-suck like like Facebook. But prbly more worth-while!
