Question on Cooking in Olive Oil

I have a question that I hope can be answered.
How would you log what you cook in? My man seared some sliced steak and onions last night in olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I'm not sure how I could log that. I'm sure the meat soaked up a little of the olive oil but not all of it.
By the way, the meat went into a whole grain taco shell with a little bit of reduced fat shredded cheese and it was absolute heaven!

If you are just searing with a touch, I wouldn't worry about it.
If you are sauteeing in say 1-2 TBS, then log the amount used to cook in.
It's full of good fats, I don't think skipping the light amount is going to do much harm.
That meal sounds amazing! And quite healthy.

My man doesn't understand 'just a touch'. LOL. But he's learning. It was probably around 2 TBS.

create a recipe of what you cooked and add a serving. Save the recipe if you want to make it again.0

I forgot about the recipe maker. Thanks!0 -
I add it...I'm from the "better be safe than sorry" side of things though. It is healthy fat and though you might not digest it all, you will take in some of the calories/fat.0

I usually add the total amount of oil i use to cook in to my log. I know i haven't consumed it all, but i tend to err to the high side. Terms like "just a touch" or "a smidgen" should really be measured and accounted for. We are counting calories here, after all. I never measured coffee creamer, when i did, i found i was adding 170 calories to a cup of coffee. Now i measure it. The creamer last longer now, too.:drinker:0
