Thanks for this! I read something similar about a year ago while researching alternative sweeteners. I honestly can't believe this is allowed for human consumption!

i cant believe the gov allows corn frutose in everything-- seriously look into it i-- between the 2 id rather keep using splenda
  • There is no known cause for ALS, except for 5% of people who have a family history. That's all I have to say about this particular doctor. I feel bad for him because Lou Gehrig's disease is God awful, but I'd rather know how he determined it was due to Splenda.

I will admit I use Splenda on occasion and my one vice for aspartame is my Fiber One Original cereal. I agree with your comment. HFCS is banned in Europe. (according to my mom - scottish)

If the food contains corn syrup or HFCS - I try to stay away from it.

I wonder, also. There is so much conflicting information out there. Trying to research anything online these days just confuses me. One person says safe, another says unsafe. I definitely don't trust the FDA or the Government. I don't think either one care about America's health.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I just figure if he really figured out the cause of something as awful as ALS that it would have been newsworthy. From what I know about the studies on aspertame and such that gave rats tumors they gave them so much of it that it would be the equivalent to drinking bathtubS full of it DAILY for a human. I don't know - I think ingesting that much of anything would give me medical problems.

Exactly. I threw this article and the article regarding aspartame out there kind of as food for thought. The never seem to go into detail on the amounts they feed those poor little mice. Artificial sweeteners couldn't be any worse for us than refined sugars, HFCS, etc. In the end it all comes down to moderation. Even the healthiest things are bad in excess.
