military press: barbell or dumbells?

Hi,
I need to move up a weight in my military press and wondering if I should now swap dumbells for barbells, any fors or againsts for this? Only reason I think maybe sticking with dumbells is that my left arm is noticably weaker than my right, so should I keep training with dumbells to make sure my left arm is working as hard as possible?
Thanks.

I prefer to use dumbbells whenever possible, for the exact reason you gave. Your strong side will always compensate for your weak side.0

Compensate- that's the word I was looking for! Thanks.0 -
I prefer doing arnolds via dumbbell and a straight press with BB.
personal choice. use what you like.
I like the BB b/c it forces it to move at the same rate as the strong arm- and if not it's wildly off- DB's I can lag and nothing matters- BB you HAVE to move roughly the same.0 -
Are you on a program? If so, which one? If you have flexibility in the program, do both. Better yet, you can do both sitting and standing BB press. And you can do regular and Arnolds with DB's. I find it hard to do sitting BB presses without a spotter. I have trouble pulling the bar from the rack and putting it back. But I find stacking plates on the seat to sit on helps optimize the height which helps me to pull the weight from the rack.0

I'm doing a begginers programme from simply shredded but it's the second time I have done it and I want to start upping the challenge a little. I have been doing standard but I think I might change to Arnolds having just googled them! Maybe a mix of those and a barbell. I'm conscious of making a couple of changed to keep this interesting as I slacked off last time after getting bored.
Thanks for the responses everyone.0
