Weight loss for good!

Hello all,
I`m a 21 year old university student trying MFP once again. I have struggled with losing weight for many years now but my main problem is consistency. I have no problem starting something new, but once I get bored I either stop or move on to the next thing. I have been on MFP for a few years now but I really started using it this month (17 day streak!) and I`m excited to keep on going. I decided to take it one day at a time and not look too forward into the future.
SW: 216 lbs
CW: 208 lbs
GW: 140 lbs (is that too low? I'm 5"6)
I'm looking forward to meeting some cool people on here and keep my motivation levels high!
P.S. It's even harder for me to keep to my calorie goal because I'm West African and whenever my mother cooks something, I have no idea how many calories are in the dishes (*hint*any West Africans on MFP*hint*)!
