Hi Everyone! I'm new to MFP and I cannot wait to get started and be surrounded by some amazing motivation.
A little about myself...
I'm 23 years old, living and working in Los Angeles, CA. When I moved out here 5 years ago, I felt healthy and happy and was so excited to embark on a new adventure. 5 years later, after multiple family, financial and health struggles, I look in the mirror and I don't like who I see. I feel so out of control in all aspects of my life and I think by jumping back into (and maintaining) a healthy lifestyle I'll feel better about myself and the rest of the things around me.
My previous attempts at weight loss/healthy lifestyle have always been thwarted by a cheat day that turned into a cheat WEEK that turned into a cheat MONTH. Also, I also often found "comfort" after a stressful bout in unhealthy junk food and alcohol, only to feel worse after. I'm currently about 15 lbs over where I feel comfortable and about 20 from where my ideal goal weight would be... but again, I am trying to be realistic about this, and remember that it is about living a healthy, active life and less about what number is on a scale.
With MFP I hope to find more success because I'll have a community to support me and I'll feel more motivated to "check in" and stay on track... and I hope I can give my support to others on the journey as well!
Good luck to everyone! Best!
