Almond milk and stomach sensitivity to raw almonds...

I have come across several recipes that call for almond milk. I've been wanting to try almond milk for a while, but I am a bit afraid to. I have horrible, horrible sensitivity to raw almonds. I can tolerate roasted almonds with no issues, but I can't handle raw ones. Both times I ate them raw, I was doubled over in pain for about two hours. It was absolutely horrible and something i don't want to experience again. I even avoid foods with almonds in them unless I have made them and know they were made with roasted almonds. The doctor told me it has something to do with an enzyme present in the almonds that is cooked off during roasting. Anyway, I'm wondering if almond milk is made with raw almonds and if it will cause the same reaction. Anyone have experience with this? If not, what's a good substitute for almond milk? Soy milk maybe?
