Meant to post this yesterday as it was weigh in day for me but I forgot. Okay so yesterday morning I hopped on my scale for my weekly weigh in and saw that it hadn't really changed much (read 125). In disbelief, I got on again and this time is said 122! What?! Soooooo, seeing as there was no way in 2 minutes I lost 3 lbs, I got on 1 more time and it said 122 again. Knowing I was going to the gym, I used their scale (the old school kind you see at some doctor's offices where you slide the weights and see where it balances out) and that one said about 123. I logged 124 as my weight cause I was so lost. How do I get about a million different readings in one day?! Which one do I believe....or do I believe none?
Sorry that was so long and confusing.

The scale is a big fat liar.......got that off my chest.
Seriously, just use one scale (the same scale) the same time of day. Some people can deal with daily changes...other people can't. If you can deal with daily changes look for TRENDS. If you can't deal with daily changes, weigh weekly.
Things that can mess with the scale....sodium levels, hormones, water intake, was the scale level (on carpet?) and more.
Instead of relying on the scale as your single point of reference.....use a tape measure. There may be times when you lost no weight.....but you lost inches. Losing inches is progress.....very good progress.0 -
Just pick one and stop obsessing about a couple pounds of difference. Get on your scale, first thing in the morning after you pee and record that weight. If you want to get on and off the scale three times and use the lowest weight, lol, do that. But then let it go.
Watch the trends. It's losing that's important, not the current number.0 -
I hate to admit it but I am guilty of having this issue all the time because I'm obsessive weigher. I tried to make a rule for myself that I'll get on ONE time after I've peed and with no clothes and whatever that weight is that is what I am going with for the day. If I end up getting back on and it's lower I'm all like "yay" and if I get on and it's higher I'm like "whatever there is no way I gained weight in less than a minute" LOL it's actually kinda comical. I try not to take it too seriously or get upset/excited either one. I definitely have to look at trending because I tend to hit a low and then bounce up and down for about a week before that loss sticks and then I hit a new low, bounce, repeat. I will sometimes average them together or just use the highest one. There is no real method to my madness!0
