Heart Rate Monitors

Hi all,
I am new to this site, I have only been logging for just over 10 days now. I have been dieting on and off for several years and something now has just clicked and I so so so desperately want to lose the weight.
I really like the idea of a heart rate monitor as I have the equipment at home and do all my exercise at home and out on my pushbike. Ideally I want a watch type style monitor that will give me the accurate rate as I'm working out and to also confirm when I am in the zone for my optimum fat burning. I really like the visual that I can just look at it when I'm working out and it will tell me there and then.
I ordered and have used the Mio monitor which is like a watch but it is so difficult to use, I have to keep pressing button to get a heart rate and then have to push several buttons at different times to get other info, it just is so difficult to get a reading. As you can imagine I don't want to be in the middle of my high intensity running on treadmill to then have to try and push a button and hold it whilst I get a reading.
So my question is, does anyone recommend any monitors without heart belt straps that are on the market which work and are easy to use. I have looked at several but cannot tell from looking online how easy they are to actually use. I have looked at the Fitbit and wondered if anyone has any views on this at all?
Thanks
Natasha
