interestingly enough, a year long study only showed that whcih ever diet you can stick to will work for you.
nothing ground breaking really, but its nice to see a study to show that no one diet is right.

I saw this earlier, and it confirms what I’ve suspected for a while. There is no one-size-fits-all, and the fact is that all the diets tested cut calories one way or another. The study just proves it doesn’t matter how you cut calories, as long as you cut them. There are obviously other health & psychological benefits to different diets – weightwatchers can be great for motivation & meeting others in a similar boat, and provides some accountability, whereas the Atkins diet is great if you want to lower your sugar & carb consumption, and paleo works well for those who are strength training, with the emphasis on protein & veggies. But the fact remains that it is cutting calories that matters for simple weight loss.0

Duh.
I wonder how much they spent to find out that there is more than one way to skin a cat. They could've spent it on food and medicine for people in places where cutting back on eating too much is some kind of dream.0
