Changed my goals...

I started on MFP before the boyfriend got home from deployment, and it was EASY! I was working out regularly, eating well and losing fast! Loved it! And then he came home, and wants me to cook him homecooked meals all the time, and keeps junk around, and it's just much more difficult. I'm tired of going over everyday (even if it's just by a hundred or four) and I'm getting to the point where I don't want to log everything, because I'm not wanting the numbers to add up. Even with my workouts, it's getting hard to stay under. Therefore, I've swapped my goals from 1.5 lb. weight loss per week to .5 lb. I was gonna swap to 'maintain', but didn't want to go completely out of the game. He leaves again within the first week of February, and I'll be back full force, but til then, it's just getting too hard and frustrating, making me want to give up completely. So, I guess I'll just enjoy being able to eat 1460 calories a day instead of my 1200 and hope it helps!

  • there is nothing wrong with altering your goals for a short season. if we are honest, most of us have done that for the holidays. it's what we do with our actions after the season ends that is important. 2 pounds a month is nothing to sneeze at in weight loss. (remember, we are not on the Biggest Loser here, we are living life with jobs/family/commitments)

please say thank you to your BF for his service time. and thank you for supporting him and making those home cooked meals for him while he is home. i am thankful for those of you who sacrifice for all of us to have freedoms.

    cheering you on!

Looks like you are very close to your goal weight. Reducing your loss per week may actually help you much more.

I think that each month everyone should re-evaluate their fitness goals. Things happen, that's life and we have to be able to learn to adapt to it or we'll never eat and live healthy! Kudos for you for being smart and making this shift. You'll get back in the game when you're ready for it!;-)

I think your plan is genius. I like it that nothing is set in stone - it's so easy to forget that. Good job.
