How to lose straight fat

I'm already creating a calorie deficit, I'm built, but over my weight class for wrestling and still have some fat. how can i be sure that i'm burning fat and not muscle, like with long distance running?

I highly recommend strength training as your focus with light cardio 3-4 times per week. I would recommend swimming at least a couple times per week for your cardio sessions.
If you can find a copy I would recommend reading Burn the Fat Feed the Muscle by Tom Venuto. His website looks like a fad diet scam with before an after photos but He has a great theory based on actual case studies and science. I highly recommend it.
