The frustrating stages of weight loss...

I'm 5'6 tall.... starting weight was 163 pounds (March 2014) and as of today which is (September 2014) I weigh 149 pounds... the weight is coming off slow but the inches is falling... Each month I see a change. (P.S. Don't mind my diary; I haven't logged any meals since June or something. My brother uses my diary to find out how many calories certain things hold... I just weigh my food and keep track in a journal. I find it more consistent that way).

Here's my frustrations I face through out the journey:

1. Sometimes I binge... and my body bloats and become gassy... and my whole body looks swollen. I get depressed because I feel I've gained the weight back... However, I'm learning about sodium intake, water weight and bloating. However, it really bugs me to see the bloating.

2. I see changes within my waist... and upper body. However, the shoulder fat and arm fat is appearing to look bigger because they are losing fat at a slower pace, while everything else is losing inches and becoming leaner. It just makes me want to go get those areas lipo'd.

3. I forget to drink enough water... I don't know why, but ever since I started watching what I eat and cutting calories. I been so focused on eating right... I forget to drink fluids. Been dehydrated twice in the hospital... I'm getting into the habit of drinking more though...

  • I have a question for you; Have you consulted a doctor to see what is right for you? There is such thing as a plateau, this is where you would be at a certain weight for close to 2 weeks. I've been through 3 plateaus so far.

I find that I used to struggle at LOT with binging. I stopped keeping my "trigger foods" in the house. I also make sure I exercise - everyday. Even if its just walking. I find that suppresses my appetite. On my heavy cardio days, I sorta am not interested in food. But I eat a LCHF diet so nearly all my calories come from proteins, fats, and veggies. I don't eat over >100 carbs. I don't get that insulant smack in the face from refined carbs/sugars.

Water is key. I gave up soda and juice. All I drink now is coffee, water, and tea (brewed). That also helped alot. I try to drink about a gallon a day. I haven't had a binge incident for about 6 months. But I do get those urges still. So I totally feel you!!
