    I need a new doctor.

One who tells me how cute I am. Seriously, how do you people hit gold like this?

None of us were in the room so we have no idea of the tone he used.

If you think his tone was neutral, then I don't quite understand what's the big deal of a doctor commenting on something positive that his patient has done toward her health. And that falls within the realm of his responsibilities toward you.

If you think the tone was not neutral, switch doctor.

Don't punish him for saying something he is supposed to be saying, if there really was no undertone to it; just shows that your other doctors haven't done their jobs properly (to discuss figure/size).

I'm not sure I'd use the word cute about a patient myself, but we all are so different. Hence my question about possibly perceived undertone.

This is very likely the heart of the problem. Unless you're very angry, or very sarcastic, I have a hard time reading/gauging tone.

I'm not punishing him, or at least I'm not trying to, but I also don't want to ignore the feeling the situation gave me.

I absolutely do not think he was being creepy, perverted or intentionally inappropriate. Prior to him, I had the same doctor for 12 years, so I guess I was asking if this was a normal sort of interaction. We had already discussed my weight loss, medication, and others things - I was standing up to leave the room when he said it. I guess it just felt out of place.

Regardless, the appointment I just had went great, so I'll just address it in the moment if it happens again.

Thanks again for all your feedback everyone!

I think you should find a new doctor. Doctors visits are uncomfortable enough. You don't need more reasons to feel uncomfortable. I'm sure he won't notice, he sees lots of patients.

I definitely doctor shop. I think I may have finally found one I like... She listened to me when I spoke. Shocker.

IF you are a female and he is male, I would be flattered. Yes, he went beyond that 'professionism', but my chiropractor has commented on how big my boobs have gotten since I have lost the weight since you focus on them now instead of my fat stomach. Did I think he was pushing that you're my doctor? Yeah, but he's married with three kids and i don't really care. he wasn't hitting on me, just commenting on how my body is changing.

I think he's just being nice as you've done so well.
    Enjoy the compliment.
