Dropping weight but not seeing it

Hello everyone,
I wanted to ask a question about the difference between “Fat burning” and “Cardio” settings on an elliptical. Which is better for removing belly fat? I have dropped 43 pounds in the last four months but I am stuck where I am at. I have lost fat everywhere other than my midsection, I am still 51 pounds from my first milestone weight. Just wanted to see what your thoughts are on the differences between these two setting are for weight loss.

I honestly don't know which is better for overall fat loss, it probably doesn't matter, but I can tell you that neither one is going to target belly fat.0

Neither will target belly fat.
Your body picks where you lose it at.
Go youtube some AB strength training and incorporate those into your workouts.0 -
Unfortunately, you cannot spot-burn body fat. It gets used from everywhere as you become leaner. The reason you still have a good deal on your mid-section is because that is where our bodies like to store it first (and most). Keep at it. It'll come off with time and consistency. For weight loss, high intensity intervals and weight lifting are great. Hit helps to keep your metabolism up. Low level cardio while on a calorie deficit actually reduces your metabolism, which leads to plateaus.

Even though the machines have you thinking there's a difference between these two things, studies in fitness and exercise science have shown there isn't. Your body will burn fat doing cardio and this so called fat burning zone isn't really all it's cracked up to be.
If you really want to burn fat - although you can't spot reduce - build muscle. The more muscle you have the more calories you will burn, ultimately leaving you with a bigger deficit at the end of the day. Ultimately, it's probably the most effective.
HIIT can also help too . . . as long as you keep the heart rate elevated and don't take too much of a break in between sets.
Spin is something I really enjoy doing - it's low impact, works the quads which are the biggest muscle and will ultimately burn the most and you can burn anywhere from 500 - 750 calories/hour . . .maybe more depending on your muscle mass.0 -
Not touching the spot reducing question, others have that handled.
However, I'm going to encourage you to take pictures. I can't see the differences in my body by just looking the the mirror, but when I see old and new pictures side by side, I can see the difference. You're down 40+ pounds! Believe me there's a difference even if you can't see it in yourself.0
