Working out more to eat more

So my mom called me anal because I needed to go workout for 30-40 minutes to make room for a sliver of cheesecake. I doubt I'm the only one who does this when they want a treat. I underestimated my burn and overestimated the calories so I know I'm definitely within range to eat it.

So how many are "anal" when it comes to their caloric budget and treats?now off to nom nom nom some cheesecake
:-)

I ALWAYS make room for a treat (everyday). I don't eat back my exercise calories, so I can't relate there, sorry.

    That's not anal.

That's sticking to your goals and compromising to accommodate what is going on around you. It's commendable.

I had to refuse cupcakes last night because it did not fit into my goals. I did not mind one bit. I sat and chatted and drank my water. I don't care if they eat it, they should not care if I don't.

I did this when I first lost weight and I think it's a great way to mentally tie calories in to calories out. I switched to TDEE though a while back and we'll see how it goes. It worked damn fine on my last bulk at least. lol

Enjoy your cheesecake! I have often exercised a bit more so I can eat a bit more, so in that respect (calories in vs. calories out) I am pretty detail oriented. However, if I do happen to go over on one or two days, I'll just watch what I eat and perhaps increase my activity on the next few days until my numbers match up again.

I'm in maintenance, but remain strict with my logging and monitoring both food intake and activity levels... so you are not alone!
