Having "Me" Time

I've been doing a lot more of this lately, after having a mini mental breakdown over some things that I realize now are really miniscule in the great scheme of things. Taking some time to personally unwind and recharge my batteries to deal with day to day life, it really helps a lot.
I am the type of person who needed to always be doing something WITH someone, or a group of people. To hang out, to go to the movies, to go shopping, exercising --- a dependent person. I'd feel uncomfortable doing things by myself, and to not be invited somewhere when a group of people were going, that would really depress me -- I internalized everything negative and would become bitter over little things as well. Overall, I came to the conclusion that it's a bad way to live life, letting the negative outweigh the positive.
It helps to have a support group, which I have in my fiance. He's the best, and he always encourages me to try new things, to become my own person. Heck sometimes when I'd visit him we'd be content being in different rooms doing totally different things.
Lately I've seen movies by myself, gone walking - walking through certain parts of town, with old mom and pop shops that've been around for ages, it's a completely new and wonderful experience when going solo! Or having more "me" time at home, by just sitting down and reading (it's a crime how little I've read for leisure in the past couple of years), maybe with some tea.
I still have times where happiness is reliant on others, but I'm working on being completely ok with myself, and being happy with myself. Isn't it strange, how, no matter how old you may get, you discover new things about yourself, and for many, continue to search for the true you?
Do any of you do certain things that people would normally do with someone else or in groups (Some people thought it was weird that I watch movies by myself, but I'm like, screw you I DO WHAT I WANT)? Have any of you had a similar experience, a similar revelation of "wow, this is me, and I love myself?"

Exercise!
I always exercised with someone else or a group. Loved those group classes at the gym or walking with a friend. Several months ago I started exercising alone and I absolutely love it! I put on the music and just lose myself in it. Tuning out the world and my stresses. I found my zen place.....0 -
Three years ago I went to France on my own for 10 days. I speak very little in the way of French so everything was entirely up to me. That was a fun trip!
I often go places on my own. I started doing it when I was in my middle 30s because I was single at the time and sick of waiting around for someone to do things with.
Now I actually prefer traveling alone if I can because I can do what I want and not have to put up with someone elses timeline.0 -

I do everything on my own. Always have. I have 100's of friends, but no one I would do everything with.0
