Just started, feeling bad due to no results.

Not sure whats going on, eating exactly 2400 calories a day and spending 40-60 mins in the gym 6 days a week. I've only been going for a week and a half, and in this week and a half i've managed to gain a pound. Any help? really demotivated atm.

You could be retaining water if you have just started exercising. Or, your calorie goal is set too high, but we might need more info to determine that - what is your height? weight? activity level? how many calories do you burn at the gym when you go? What does MFP set your calorie goal at? How are you logging your food? Weighing, eyeballing? Etc.

Honestly from what I have read, 2400 calories is about maintenance level for people w/ moderate exercise, so it might be impossible to lose while eating that much.

If you are gaining fat, 1lb over 1.5 weeks is roughly an extra 350 calories a day above maintenance. So you could stick with what you're doing for another week, and if you are still gaining. I would suggest an adjustment.

This will tell you what your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is - Basically the calories needed to maintain.
Then take away 250 calories for every 1/2 lb a week you want to lose (I reccommend 1 -1 1/2lb)

This should give you an idea if you are eating too much to lose weight.

How are you logging that 2400 calories? Weighing, measuring??? The gain is most likely water retention so I wouldn't worry about it, but accurate logging is going to be essential here.
