    I am definitely a chocolate eater around my TOM.....and even worse than that I'm constantly hungry! Most of the time I just snack and for the week before my TOM I eat like a pregnant lady, which actually since using MFP I've at least been more aware of and limited.

    One of the reasons why so many women crave Chocolate may be due to the fact that Dark Cocoa is high in iron. TOM is notorious for causing temporary anemia in some women.

    Here are some suggestions:

    1) If you have to eat chocolate, eat DARK chocolate... as dark as you can get it. Dark chocolate doesn't require as large a dose to satisfy the flavor need... and it tends to be higher in iron and magnesium.

    2) Exercise during TOM! This is so important. Exercise reduces SO MANY of the TOM symptoms.

    3) Take a supplement for iron if you don't already... even if only during TOM.

    4) Try this as a substitute: 3 tablespoons of Dark Unsweetened Cocoa, 1/2 Teaspoon of Cinnamon and then sweeten with Stevia (all natural 0 calorie sweetener). Add hot water. For 45 calories, you can make a nice big mug of hot cocoa... but it won't taste as creamy as the real thing since it doesnt have milk in it. However, because it is lean, you can drink lots of it. In fact, this exact mix along with a teaspoon of Matcha Green Tea and a couple of drops of B-12 is my Workout Energy Drink. Gives me a nice long buzz without the caffeine crash.

    Thank you all!! I just needed some assurance that I am not alone here! .... It sucks that I'm due just in time for Christmas :-) ... I have to add some extra workout cause its no way I can just not eat ....
