Power racks

Should every gym have one? I'm not finding many/any gyms have them near me, is it a UK thing? There is always a squat rack and some times a smiths machine but rarely a power rack. I'm not finding many weight gyms usually focusing n cardio.
There is one gym near me that is celebrating a lady squatting 50lbs on a smiths machine WTF
My current gym (leisure centre) has the smallest weight area ever and only has a smiths machine, a couple of benches, loads of dumbbells etc but not much real weight stuff.

I've heard that it's hard to find a decent lifting gym in the UK. Space or insurance or something like that. But a lot of gyms don't have power racks. As long as you have a squat rack and can find a spotter for your bench press you'll be fine0

Another leisure centre I can use with my membership has a weight room where the local power lifting club train. I have found a gym that looks promising http://max-strength.co.uk/ and it's very local.
You can't swing a cat in my current gyms 'free weight' area lol0
