Will I ever reduce my waist size from here?

I'm 5'5.5", weighed in today at 110 lbs, and my waist size still hovers around 26-27 inches, and that's in the morning before I eat anything. Is there any way I can get my waist down to 24> inches? I've tried a lot of things (including waist training with a corset, but I don't think I'm going to try that) and while I do a lot of stomach exercises, I know there's no such thing as spot reducing.

I'm afraid that my body type may prevent me from getting my waist any smaller :/ was anyone able to reduce their waist size further despite it not being in the unhealthy range to begin with?

is there any reason your waist should be 24 inches or less? 26 inches is a pretty decent waist size for your height, and well below the size considered a health risk. perhaps your expectations aren't entirely realistic - genetics have a lot to do with body proportions, and your waist would be a women's size small.
  • I have like a 26/27 waist, and I'd love to have 24 or 25 inches, and I'm 6'1 and like 142. I don't think it's possible for me either.

You're already probably a bit too skinny for your height. I'm 175lbs, 5'7, and I have a 26-27in true waist, which might drop down to 25-26 when I'm done my cut. This is just my bone structure. But someone else at my weight could have a much larger or much smaller waist. It's all about your body and how it is designed.

I agree with itsbasschick, you have unrealistic goals.

Sorry this is going to sound harsh... but here it is,

I'm not sure someone who is recovering from ED should be too worried about her waist size.

You look fine. Quit trying to emulate some arbitrary image and just be healthy. Quit obsessing.

I wouldn't worry about your waist size. You look great as it is.

I've seen your other posts on here, OP, and I will be frank in that an alarming amount of content in your posts gear toward disordered eating, obsessing over small calorie discrepancies, unrealistic weight goals, and arbitrary measurements that don't mean anything. Please get help.

Certainly, losing more weight will not do you any favours as you already appear to be underweight or at least close to it. ]
My waist is around 25, but that is not from my weight, but rather from doing a lot of strength work/weight training and abs work. If I slack off on the exercise, and only do cardio, my waist tends to be around 26. But as others have said, I would stop focusing on it. Having a smaller waist is not life changing and will not change who you are.

    So much this.

    ^^ Agreed.

OP, if you were my daughter, I would be very concerned about you. I don't think you are as recovered from your eating disorder as you'd like to believe. Have you been in treatment before? Can you call the doctor and schedule an appointment to discuss backsliding into old, destructive thought patterns?

You are a beautiful young woman, and you deserve to enjoy good health and long life.

If you don't have access to health care, consider visiting nationaleatingdisorders.org and see if there are resources there that will help you.

    Good luck. :flowerforyou:

Likely not OP. If you want your waist to appear smaller, you could always add some muscle to your hips/glutes and shoulders. But something tells me it's the number you are going for a not a particular look.
