How long before you started seeing results?

I've been staying under my calorie limit every day for about 2 weeks. I FEEL really good, but I don't think I can see any results yet. This is always the point in the past where I've gotten discouraged and quit my diet.

Another problem I have is getting enough exercise. I have a bad knee and that makes a lot of workouts painful for me. Does anyone have any suggestions about any workouts I can do at home that would work for me?

I have advance ostioarthritis in my knees so no matter what I do it hurts. I have a treadmill that I use often, multiple workout DVD's, and walk outside when weather permits. I often have to take an Advil afterwards depending on what I have done, or how much I push myself. Once per week I go to the pool during the "adult only" lane swimming times and do laps for a minimum of 30 minutes.

I do not let my knees stop me. As I've lost weight and strengthened them I have noticed improvment, you need to work through the pain.

As for your progress, after 2 weeks you have likely lost about 4 to 5 pounds so not enough to notice yet. Truthfully, I didn't notice anything until after the first few months when I had lost closer to 20 pounds.

Every day that you do everything you can to work toward a healtheir you is a success, every little choice you make will get you to your goal if you give yourself the gift of patience.

    Good luck!

Keep it up! I noticed results in about a month when my parts started falling off :)

You don't necessarily need to exercise a ton to lose the weight either - it's all about the calorie deficit. Walk as much as you can and the weight WILL come off. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. You don't need to run or do anything super high-impact to lose the pounds, you just need the dedication to stick with it.

I apply an old programming mantra to my diet - GIGO: Garbage in, Garbage out. If you stick to your diet and stay honest there's literally no way you can keep the weight on forever. Good luck, you can do it!

    Which parts exactly?
  • I have the same question, I have also been doing this for alittle bit over 2 weeks, and I haven't really lost anything...1 lbs is all...and I exercise about 3 days a week @ 40minute cardio....Any suggestion will be more than welcome...my calories are 1200 and I do eat my exercise calories that I earn.
  • My advice to everyone is just to keep at it!!!! Your body takes a while to get used to new habits, especially if you haven't previously led a healthy lifestyle. If you're working out a lot, the scales may not reflect a lot of weight loss as you're probably building muscle. Try taking measurements instead, or repeatedly trying on tight clothing to see how it gets looser.

    Don't give up!!!
