Carbs in the morning?

So I recently switched back from a very low carb diet to a low calorie diet with more carbs. I was eating 2 boiled eggs for breakfast and never felt ravenous before lunch. Well, this morning I had Cream of Wheat Healthy Grain and I was STARVING by 10:00. I am wondering what is the best time of day to eat most of my carbs would be? I exercise in the evening so should I eat them for lunch to prepare for that or for supper to replace them after my workout?

I can't eat just carbs in the morning either. I get light-headed and mean! I do fine with carbs + protein + fat.0

I agree with previous post. I like to eat my starch for the day during lunch! A wrap or bread slices are enough carbs for the day and don't leave you only eating carbs for an entire meal.0

I think I'll stick with eggs for breakfast. I didn't realize how hungry carbs in the morning made me until I ate boiled eggs for breakfast for 6 weeks! I think lunch is probably the best time, I have a banana and yogurt and may add bread to my veggie burger. For dinner I like to have grilled chicken or turkey, and I think I'll find something protein heavy to pair with that as well.0 -
Yeah I need some fat too, plain carbs never work for me either. Protein doesn't seem to help me that much either though, got to be complex carbs and fat.0

I eat 100+ complex carbs every morning for breakfast and I'm never hungry between meals.0

Cream of wheat is super refined. Try something more hardy, like steel cut oats or a whole wheat English muffin with peanut butter. Timing is highly irrelevant so eat carbs when ya like.0

I eat some kind of super dense whole grain health bread in the morning (like it is not fluffy at all and 100% stuff like spelt and oats) with hardboiled eggs and vegetables and sometimes even a small piece of turkey sausage. Morning is my hungriest time of day and I eat a full 1/3 of my calories for the day at breakfast.
Refined carbohydrates in the morning like a bagel or something is a total disaster for me--I will be ravenous ALL DAY. Just protein isn't right either, so I eat some really dense whole grain+protein+veggies.
Sometimes that keeps me so full I just eat like an apple and a cheese stick for lunch or something.
I'm trying to get that combo at all my meals: a complex carbohydrate+protein+veggies and/or fruits of various colors.0 -
Carbs eaten alone cause a fast spike in your blood sugar level. That's why you get hungry. Proteins and fats cause a slower and lower spike in your blood sugar level. Carbs taken along with proteins don't spike your blood sugar as fast or as high and you won't get hungry so soon. Try a protein/fruit/milk smoothie along with a whole fruit for your carb fix.0

If this was the first time you felt like this after the sudden change to diet, than perhaps is likely that your body hasn't had a chance to recalibrate itself to the new meal plan. From my own changes in the past, and from what i've learned from others is that it can take up to at least 4 to 6 days before you're body metabolism and all adjust to it's new source of fuel. you're body was use to that incredible edible egg protein and omegas.
As long as you just eat when you're hungry with a sensible approach you're fine. there was a time when i'd wake up and just go straight to work with no breakfast and not even pack a lunch. I have no idea how I use to pull that off but I was use to it. Now I go absolutely crazy if I don't eat about every 3 hours.
My first choice for breakfast is usually Oatmeal with peanut butter and two boiled eggs on the side.0 -

This. It's not that dramatic, just hunger, but for me it's not eating carbs, which is no problem at all, but eating mostly just them for a meal. My breakfast is a mix, and that's fine.
I usually try to get a third of my day's protein, though.0
