Just one of those days...

Gave you ever had one of those days that seem like everything went wrong. My third day at new job, supervisor is a mean little bitty. Followed by lots of little crazy things today. So stopped at grocery store for three flavores of ice cream, hot fudge sauce, and whipped cream. Needless to say my calories and macros were really bad today. I almost doubled my calorie goal, in one sitting! But it sure was good, forgot about my day, over indulged in my favorite foods. Tomorrow is another day, and I know well enough that I better get that stuff out of my house, so to my niece and nephew it will go.
Ever had just one of those days, do you turn to food? Or do you have a specific way to avoid the distraction of the day ?

I usually just hit the gym or head out for a long walk with the dogs. I know it probably felt good to eat that--there's nothing wrong with that--the problem is it didn't fit into your budget. So what do you do now? Well obviously as you've realized, you need to find other ways of dealing with stress. I'm not an emotional eater, so for me, going and hitting a punching bag and working out for a while lets the frustration out.
    You could also:
    Take a long hot bath
    Watch a movie and relax
    Call a friend
Do your nails/hair/makeup something girly or something that makes you feel pretty
Cry! (Yes, let it allll out)
I'm sure there are other things too, besides eating.

Yes you are very right about plenty of other things. I'm going to have to be extremely selfish with my calories and macro's this week. Rarely do I turn to food, but today it just seemed worth it. I felt better but then if course once it's too late to change it, I feel disappointed in myself.

Yes I agree! I will have to play my calories and macros very safe the rest of this week. Oh well nothing ever comes free, lol
Thanks for your time to reply

I go with BEER!!! but actually as weird as it is for me to say this, I think those are the days I come home, change over, and disappear for a 6 mile run to get over it. But yes.. we all have those days.. and nothing wrong with a day that happens like that. The trend is what counts. People get too serious about this calorie counting thing sometimes (coming from somebody to has a food scale and doesn't like to eat out cause it's guesstimating.)

I have. I did. I hear you. It is just one day. It doesn't define you.

Big hug because you need it. Go kick *kitten* tomorrow!

We all have "those" days, where it seems like the whole world has decided to make it its personal mission to poo in your cornflakes. A long walk, hot bath, intense workout, etc. are definitely great stress busters, but sometimes the only thing that will make that day seem better is to EAT ALL THE THINGS!!! I am a firm believer in the healing powers of cheesecake when all else has failed (used sparingly of course to retain maximum efficacy).

Editing my entire post because I can't relate to this, and I can't delete my post.

Food isn't my go-to for bad days. If I'm having a really bad day, I crawl under the covers and cry my face off for awhile (similar to a screaming toddler)...that's probably not any healthier, but yeh, that's my go-to for bad days.

When it comes to me craving things at random that I really shouldn't have (and I just want them because they taste good)...I'll sit down and stitch or crochet (it keeps my hands, mouth and mind busy) OR...I'll actually do some squats. Then my thighs hurt so much that I forget what I was wanting to begin with (other than Advil). OR...I'll read MFP Success Stories (that always inspires).

You said it in your original post and you just said it again...tomorrow is indeed another day. You're off to a perfect mindset already. I'm *still* learning that my today will only negatively affect my tomorrow if I allow it to. Good on you. :')
