Walking

I am 60 years old and walking 60 minutes a day during the work week, and half of that is uphill. Should I skip a day between walks?

Not unless you feel you need to.

    ... Barefoot? In the snow?

 I'm sorry. I had to. HAD TO.

**In all seriousness, I don't see why you would absolutely need to, but it might feel great to sit for a day and not do the hike.
  • Are you ok doing it everday? Timewise and healthwise? If so there is no need to skip a day. If you're having trouble try 30 every day or an hour every other day. Good luck!

Maybe walk a different terrain on one of your "rest days" to keep your body guessing and work different muscles?

If you just started and it feels like too much, take a break.

Everyone should see a doctor when beginning their weight loss journey. If he cleared you to do the exercise and you feel good doing it, there is no reason you shouldn't. :)

I know a guy who ran his first marathon at 65. He ran another one, but it took a lot out of him. His wife said he had to stop because she couldn't take the worrying. He still runs at 72, but not as far. :)

Personally, I don't even like to drive 26 miles, so it's a little humbling when an old guy runs it. He is quite an inspiration!! :)
