LOSING WEIGHT DURING SCHOOL???

So I know a lot about diet and exercise. Like a lot. I just want a second opinion an maybe I could learn something new from someone else. I recently lost 20lbs this summer. I started my journey in June and I was off and on. In July I incorporated cardio and I really put my heart in to my journey and it payed off. I exercised 6 days a week during the summer. Now that I'm back in school I don't really have time to exercise. I'm always determined to wake up at 5 in the mornin and do Jillian Michaels (my fave) but I'm always so tired or just don't feel like it (ughh EXCUSES. I'm not the excuse type person) someone encourage me. I do cardio on Saturday and that's about it now. I also heard that you can lose weight without exercise just a clean diet. My diet is no the best- as in I'm not eating enough but I lost 10lbs (no exercise). I eat fruit sometimes in the morning. I don't eat breakfast all the time but I know I should. I WANNA LOSE MORE WEIGHT. I'm determined. I usually have one cheat day a week, I want to change that to one cheat day a month. I'm not afraid to go all out. I don't take it easy. I go hard. Someone please give me some ideas on what I should do. Encouragement. Anything!! I notice that switching my diet up has brought the best results for me!!! I try to take in 1300 calories a day.

BMR. TDEE. Create a reasonable deficit, and you'll lose weight, exercise or not.0

No you don't. Case and point:I also heard that you can lose weight without exercise just a clean diet. My diet is no the best- as in I'm not eating enough but I lost 10lbs (no exercise). "Clean" or "dirty" diet has nothing to do with weight loss.
If you have to have "cheat days" in your diet, you're whole view of nutrition is wrong...
You're also not eating enough0 -
You need more than 1300 calories for your age. (You do not have to cheat if you set your calories to an amount that is good for your body.)
Sleep in the mornings. That is fine.
It is perfectly acceptable to skip breakfast.
Exercise on the weekends and one or two days during the week if you can.0 -
So no cheat days?0

Why bother needing cheat days? I took my height which is rather short being 5'1 and a weight of 155 to get a BMR of a bit over 1500. Now, its probably safe to assume you're taller than me and that's a reasonable average weight for the age group so you would need eat more than that to lose weight safely and now using the same numbers plugged into tdee with sendentary as the setting gave about 1700. So really you are not eating any where near enough.0

Calorie deficit = weight loss. If you have 91 pounds to lose, there is no way you're going to be satisfied on 1300 calories a day. The point is to eat in moderation without feeling hungry all the time. You're setting yourself up for failure, as if you were eating enough, you wouldn't feel you would have to have "cheat" days.0

No, I'm 18 and a senior in high school. Where did you get 19 from?0

I think what they mean is that you shouldn't need to restrict yourself to having a 'cheat' day. Instead, understand your intake daily/weekly, and enjoy whatever foods you want, in portions which fit in with your daily/weekly calorie goals, whatever day you want. This is a much healthier and sustainable way to eat, without having to label foods as good or bad. It's possible to eat pizza, chocolate, ice cream, whatever, every single day and still lose weight, if you fit it in your calorie goals.
Take the advice of some of the other posters too, and calculate your actual calorie needs to determine what the right deficit is for you. then, eat what you like, at whatever time of day works for you, according to that deficit. You'll be much happier that way.0 -
It's not really about exercise.
The best approach would probably be to measure your food carefully, eat at a reasonable deficit, and spend a substantial amount of time on your English homework.0 -

OP joined March 2013. So in other words, OP lied about their age when they signed up and now of course their age is reading older than they were.0
