A flood of thoughts...

It seems to me that, the more weight I lose, the more effort it seems to take to keep losing. Or, more likely it is that I've been on a diet for 569 days.
Who could have ever believed? But, the more I think about it the more I truly come to understand that "Believe" is at the core of why this time its working!!

I have to give a shout to my GM at the company I work at. Many years before I started this journey, adventure, life changing emotional roll a coaster. I was in a dark place. I was 360lbs with severe sleep apnea and diabetes. Which by the way also comes with feet neuropathy. What a lovely side effect for being fat that is. You never hear, or maybe listen to that story...Anyways. in 2012 my friend lost a 100lbs. I had never met anyone in my life that had accomplished such a feat! How often does the trials and victories of a man or woman change your life so profoundly. I will forever be great full to my friend. You changed my life. You gave me my life back.
It took a few months to wrap my head around it. Then my beautiful wife, big or tiny. She has and always will be My Miss Katherine. She found this wonderfully simple, yet complex site. We have done every diet out there but this time it was different. We kept it simple. Eat whatever you want but you must stop when you out of calories.

Simple! The first 6 months I tried a few dishes. I did the frozen lunches and i ate a lot of chicken tacos. My wife on the other hand plans her days out to the last calorie. Well balanced meals lots of choices. She really is an amazing woman. She does all that and still works 40 plus at a tough job. She helps take care of our 4 year grand baby and still has time to be my best friend. The point is, this diet or more accurate life change works for anyone. Keep it simple calories in calories out. I can 100% Guaranty you, that if you eat the 1200 -1500 and move your *kitten* more. You will lose weight! But one big key is being true to your self. Log Everything and Believe! .

Thank you for this inspiring post and kick in the butt!!! We all need this at different times along this journey. For myself, I'm not able at this time to even remotely reach my calorie goals due to my lapband which will be removed soon I hope. So I'm just doing the best I can with a low carb diet and exercise until then. But I'm observing and learning from all my pals on here and I can't wait to actually be able to target my goals once and for all and to maybe see some real loss start happening for me before the end of the year :-)

A wonderful post. Calories in/calories out has worked wonders for us. It helps so much to have someone your doing this with to encourage you and get on you if your getting lazy lol. Believing is at the core of this because this is just as much a mental process as it is a physical. You absolutely have to have the right mind set in order to succeed.

Congrats to both you and your lovely wife!! You guys are making amazing progress...together! I am so blessed to have a friend here at work too who introduced me to MFP. She has lost well over 130 lbs and really inspired me to get busy changing my life. I started almost exactly 2 years ago and haven't looked back. I am also blessed to have a wonderful husband/best friend who supports me and is my biggest cheerleader. Without him I don't think I could have stuck with it this far. God bless you both as you keep pushing forward on this journey! You are an awesome inspiration!
