Hi All, I am looking for ideas for breakfast that are low calorie and aren't sweet. It seems most breakfast things are sweet and for some reason I don't like sweet in the morning.

Thanks for any help! :)

Cup of cottage cheese with salt & pepper and a few grated or chopped veggies or some nuts? Hard-boiled eggs? Slice of toast with a slice of mature cheddar?
  • I often have a hard-boiled egg with my coffee and meal-replacement shake. Starts the day with protein, which is very good and low cal, and it's fast if you boil the eggs ahead of time and refrigerate. Also no added calories to prep like butter or oil for fried or scrambled (60 calories). Good luck.

    thanks everyone :)
  • For quick and simple these are the ones I rotate through each week.

    Overnight Oatmeal
-Quaker Oats - 100% Natural Whole Grains Old Fashioned, 1/2 cup (40g)
-Wonderful Almond Accents (Net Carbs) - Sliced Almonds - Oven Roasted/ No Salt, 2 Tablespoon (7g)
-Almond Breeze AlmondMilk - Unsweetened Vanilla, 1 Cup
-Wymans of Maine - Fresh Frozen Wild Blueberries, 0.5 cup (140g)
    300 calories

You can combine the oats and almonds Sunday night in containers and the night before, put in the blueberries and the milk and let it sit overnight in your refrigerator. You can also substitute any fruit that you would like, and that would adjust the calories as well.

    Sausage, Eggs, & Cheese Muffin
    -Thomas - Light Multi-grain English Muffins, 1 muffin (57 g)
-Morningstar Farms - Veggie Sausage Patties, 1 patty
-Egglands Best - Organic Egg 50g, 1 egg
-Organic Valley - Organic American Singles (Unprocessed), 1.5 slices
    350 calories

Again I make these on Sunday and wrap them in plastic wrap and then foil and throw them in the freezer and grab one on my way to work.

    Soyrizo Breakfast Burrito (6 Servings)
-Tumaros - Premium White Wraps, 6 wrap
-El Burrito - Organic Soyrizo Meatless Soy Chorizo, 12 " piece / 55g
-Westbrae Natural - Vegetarian Organic Black Beans, 1 3/4 cup (130g)
-Organic Valley - Eggs Brown Large Organic, 6 egg
-Organic Valley - Organic Shredded Mexican Blend, 3/4 cup (28g)

Drain and rinse the black beans. Scramble the eggs and set aside. Heat the soyrizo in a pan, add black beans, and incorporate together. Remove from heat and combine eggs with mixture. Evenly distribute mixture to 6 tortillas (should be about 5 ounces each), top with cheese and roll. Again I make all of this on Sunday, wrap in plastic and then in foil and put them in the freezer.

What do you call a low-calorie breakfast?

You can gorge on egg whites and veggies for under 200 cal ..

    An Egg McMuffin is 300.

1/2 cup of egg whites mixed with a Laughing Cow cheese wedge(chopped up), dash of salt, pepper, and onion powder...microwave for 2 minutes. Chop it up and put into 1/2 of a Josephs Flax Pita...around 135 calories! Delicious!

My breakfast consists of 1/4 cup eg beaters, fresh veggies chopped (usually use 1/3 cup mushrooms, 1/4 cup green onion, 1/3 cup zuchinni, 1 baby bell pepper) what ever you like. I have used brocolli and asperagus as well. Sautee the veggies in EVOO (1 tsp) until tender. Put the egg beaters over the top of the veggies cover then turn off heat and let stand for 3-5 minutes. That with a side of fruit, is about 250 calories. I sometimes top mine with Fage plain 0% yogurt or Salsa. It is pretty tasty!
