Chest Infection

Hi everyone,

I'm after a bit of advice really. I recently had a chest infection (last week) and have completed a 7 day course of antibiotics. It completely knocked me out, causing me to be breathless when doing the slightest of things (like unloading the dishwasher!).

I have been training for a marathon, but have now been out of action for 2 weeks. I attempted a gym session yesterday but only managed a mile on the treadmill before I started coughing up again.

I feel fine in myself now and am back at work, and I'm eager to get back to training. What's the best way to ease myself back in, and how long should I wait before starting properly again?

There's no hard and fast rule as everyone recovers at their own speed. I had a bronchial infection earlier this year that took me about 3 weeks to get over (in terms of training....like yours mine responded well to antibiotics but it was a couple of weeks of short slow runs before I could don any distances)
