I started back to work after four years of not being able to. My schedule is different each day. I'm not used to being at work hardly at all. I'd rather be out there trying to make my way than to stay here and do nothing. Not a desk job like I'm used to. But a florist at a nearby Safeway, which means retail hours. I like having a regular schedule day in and day out esp now that I'm trying so hard to eat properly. I haven't been able to plan ahead, find little time to update my food diary. If I'm working early day than I don't get much of a breakfast, if I'm working late day I don't eat dinner. And I haven't figured out what to pack for lunch, so I haven't packed at all. I find something at the deli counter just to get something in my stomach and I am not getting any fruit or veg. Not a healthy place to eat, either. The worst part of the story is this... When I get home I don't can't think of anything to prepare,
And I really don't feel like cooking just for me. So a couple of days ago I grabbed two pieces of cake and 3 ice creams (they were on sale 3 for 10) it was kinda a bad day. I dipp up a lot, not some but a lot of ice cream to go on top of that cake, and went back for another in the middle of the night. It's happened three days (the ice cream and my way of eating, not the cake) now out of the last seven.first time I told myself I even though it goes over my eat up calorie, I'd use the day as a maintenance day, then it happened again, and I told myself I could make up the overage in calories with a day or two of cutting the calories. I'm so off tract that I don't even attempt fasting. And then the third day and tonight look about the same in my food diary as the other two days. I need to come up with some kind of weekly plan, just not sure of what and how. But I know I need to put a quick end to it. I told my mother to give icecream to my niece and nephew, or throw it away, before I come home tomorrow. But if I am for real slipping I can just go buy more, and that's what the old me would of done. Help

the only way to counter so much temptation may be to cold turkey on the sugar and to never go anywhere without some healthy snacks. After a few weeks you won't crave it as much. I pack nuts, vegetables into zip locs in the refrigerator and don't leave home without them. Even food marketed as healthy like yogurt is so sweet it just leaves you craving more.
I would recommend big healthy veggie omelets for dinner. If you don' t have energy to cook fresh just defrost frozen vegetables in the microwave then sautee them with beaten egg. Eggs are easier to stow than meat.
welcome back to the job market!0 -
You're overthinking it. Stop thinking of breakfast/lunch/dinner and think of first meal/second meal/etc. if your work schedule is changing then so should the time you're getting up so you can change your meal time.
Cooking dinner isn't all that hard. Make 2 servings of whatever and take the second portion for lunch the next day. Stop letting yourself get overwhelmed.0 -
Thank you for taking the time to give me your advice. It sounds good to me. Thanks again0

Yes I know your right. I guess I am afraid of messing up all the hard work I've done. And I don't want to allow myself to go back up. Too much time and energy to go waisted.
Again thanks for your opinion. Left overs tomorrow night, but going to have the omlett like you suggested on Thurs night. A good thing to do I think would be when I'm home to make veggies all cleaned and put in seperate containers for one serving. Then when I get home from work I'm at least half way done.
You've got me thinking, thsnks0
