Moody and Emotional - are my calories too low?

I'm on 1200 calories. should I up them to 1300 or 1400? My BMR is 1300.
I work as desk job and pretty much just walk every day, do occasional workout dvd's .
I'm 31 and I weigh between 56 kilos and 58 kilos , 165cm tall. total pear shape, carry all my fat in my lower half and it does not look good. I'm aiming for maybe 53 kilos.
I lost 30 kilos over the last 10 years, mostly without exercise, mostly just on my own after learning at weight watchers.
I don't want to up my cals too much and gain weight.

Thanks :)

I would eat at least your BMR. I know MFP reduced my intake to 1420 a couple weeks ago and I got moody with less energy. Looked up my BMR said 1570. So I just left my settings at sedentary but said I'd exercise at least 30 minutes 5x a week. Now I'm back to 1620's.

    Good luck.

I'm guessing your loss per week setting is too aggressive. I used the scooby calculator and put in your stats and "1-3 hours/week light exercise." It suggests eating 1499 calories for a 20% calorie reduction. Even if I tell it you're totally sedentary it says 1308 calories.

If you haven't read it yet, I suggest taking a look at this

You would have to be eating above your TDEE to gain weight, which even if you were seditary, you wouldn't be. Increase to your BMR, because eating to that is healthier than not eating to it anyhow, and see if it improves your mood.

I get like that when I eat too little calories or my Fat intake is low.
We need those fats, helps regulate our hormones.
