So today I finally did it...I got on the scale after a hiatus. I began my journey`in April and was doing quite well. Then I had some work changes (I am an elementary principal) and it became a struggle to just go to the gym and maintain starting in August so my weight loss slowed. Well the holidays hit and now I have GAINED BACK 6 of my pounds. I am devastated!!!!

But I will not let this get me down!! I will let it light a fire!!

I need to hear from those who fell off the wagon and got back on during their journey! I know i can do this lose those 6lbs plus some more!!!

  • Hi,
I fell off as well! I lost 80 and then succumbed to my new figure and thought that I could back slide and still maintain. I didn't exercise and now I have gained back 10 pounds! I too am in education so I totally understand all of the stressors that come with elementary education. But do not be dismayed! You have taken the first step and that is admitting that you have to get back on the wagon. We are not perfect and don't beat yourself up so much. Take it one day at a time. If you have an off eating day, start the next day new. I know you can do it!

You NEED to look at your ticker, lady!!!! FORTY THREE POUNDS!!!!!!

FLOOOOOD yourself with water and move that body and you'll be back to adding MORE lbs LOST to that ticker in no time. Applaud yourself for how FAR you've come. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!
  • I KNOW the feeling!! I hit my lowest the week after thanksgiving, and somehow managed to gain FIVE back since then!!!
EEK!!! Start your cardio, everyone! We can do this!

Well, I finally got on the scale after my cruise and the holidays. Sad to say gained 6 lbs from my lowest weight in August. So, back to MFP, back to regular exercise. Think it is probably a good reminder that our bodies need regular exercise and proper nutrition. Good luck to you. I am going to go ZUMBA now!

I know how you feel.... I came down with severe bronchitis about the 2nd week in December and wasn't able to work out for about 11 days because I couldn't do anything without coughing and couldn't breathe! Not only was I not able to exercise, but I also seemed to spend those 11 days enjoying all of the holiday food, and then some. I got on the scale yesterday and saw that I had gained 5 pounds and made a beeline to the gym for the first time in 11 days. I am officially back on track and seriously regret all of the cookies and drinks I had so I am making up for it now!

Thank you everyone for the advice and encouragement....I had a good day today and plan to have many more. I have also changed my weigh in day to Monday. I think this will help-it used to be Saturday, but this way I am also more accountable on the weekend!

Send me a friend request to be a part of my Monday Support Group/weigh in. The more the merrier-MFP really helps me focus. I noticed during my hiatus I did not log my calories or exercise thus the result is weight gain. I am better than this!!!!!
