First off, merry christmas everyone - hope you have all had a lovely time
Lik a few of us it seems, for the last few weeks (due to being ill, the gym shut, stuck in the house thanks to snow and up north for xmas) I have felt somewhat off track.. I have still been watching what I eat, they just havn't been the smartest choices and calories have been over.. plus exercise hasn't been very regular...
I saw my family this festive season, after not seeing them for a few months, and they all commented on how slim I look and my weight loss!! It was really nice to hear them say they could see a difference :-)
Lets face it, if you're anthing like me, I don't always see the positive changes.. i know I still go, look at the fat here, here and here (*pointing*).. rather than paying attentions to the positive changes ( I forget things like improved stamina at the gym, maybe I am too body / appearance focused!?)
A lot of people on here seem to be concerned about christmas weight gain, I can't say I'm excluded from this by any means (I havnt taken my weight in about a month now so eeekkk) - I am in the same camp HOWEVER, we shoudlnt be so hard on ourselves should we! I bet a lot of us on here are healthier, fitter and slimmer than this time last year.. I know I am.
Lets keep this in mind and look forward to the new year, time to refocus and get back on track
Hope you all have a fantastic new year - outta interest, what are you're goals and hopes for the new year?
Here are a few of mine:
1) Continue getting healthier, fitter and slimmer
2) In 5 months I will be married - I can't wait
3) learn more skills (with career in mind, I do like to learn!)
Happy new year guys
xx

I found that once I changed my focus from getting skinny to just getting healthy I started seeing the positive changes in my body more. I was able to see where I'd lost fat instead of only seeing where I still had it.
I've gained a little over a half a pound in the last week. I'm not happy about it, but for once seeing the gain didn't put me in a bad mood. I know why it happened, I wasn't going to the gym and I was indulging in Christmas goodies. But it's just a half a pound, not too big a deal, I know it'll come off again. And honestly, the break, the cookies and than candies were all worth it!
My goals for the next year are to continue working hard to lose more weight (16 more pounds by April), to get pregnant sometime between March and May, and to continue my good eating and exercise habits.0 -
 What a great outllook to have - I was able to see where I'd lost fat instead of only seeing where I still had it! :-) Fatastic goals you have too!
I am getting married in May and my husband to be and I have talked about starting a family after. Hope you achieve all you want
