A good place to Start

I am new to working out, i have done the "first day " work out every six months or so, but thats pretty much it, one day then nothing.

I just got the xbox kinect game that tracks your body and such but havent even taken it out of the box yet, not to mention the xbox is connected to the tv at the end of the bed rather then the living room. Not to mention i feel a little foolish doing things like that with people in the house, and there are 4 of us.

Thats pretty much all i know.
I work a 9-5er sitting at a desk i cant leave ( literally even have to call for someone to come to the desk so i can leave for the restroom ) and DO NOT do mornings so no early to rise and workouts happening here.

bad knees and back due to the extra weight so need to shed a few before i can get into the hard core stuff. Walking is really hard and running just aint happening.

Any low to no cost ideas?? I am committed to lossing the weight, but i know if i push too hard in the first few days i wont go back for another few.
