One thing that I found that is filling and easy....air popped pop corn! With a little spritz of either lime juice and salt, or a little pam spray and salt (to keep the salt on the pop corn). Lots of filling with little calories!

    Salmon fillets
    Catfish fillets
    Ocean Perch fillets
    Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
    Ground turkey
    Pork loin
    Sweet Potatoes
    Acorn Squash
    Butternut Squash
    Celery
    Leaf Lettuce
    English cucumber
    Frozen whole kernel corn
    Frozen cut green beans
    Frozen whole green beans
Frozen broccoli, cauliflower, and carrot medley
    Stone cut oatmeal
    Apples
    Oranges
    Pears
    Avocado
    Seedless grapes
    Skim milk
Low or no fat sour cream
Low or no fat cottage cheese
    Sugar free Jello
    Tomato paste

We grow many vegetables and either can or freeze them so I don't have to shop for most. We make our own no-sugar added applesauce and can our own pears in lite syrup. I bake my own bread for the most part but do buy Sara Lee 45 cal per slice just in case I need some and don't have time to bake. I hate it but it will do.

Staples might include whole wheat flour, wheat germ, assorted grains (from natural food store) for my breads, brown rice. We eat few potatoes (other than sweet potatoes). I also make my own whole grain pasta.

I know that is out of the question for most of you. I raised four kids (and a couple of grandkids) too. Now that we're retired I have the time to cook and bake from scratch.
