So I was watching Paula Deen (food porn) and she just called a hot chicken salad covered in mayonnaise, with a potato chip crust (get this) nice and light.

Seriously, Paula Deen? If that's nice and light, I'll go ahead and make it for lunch tomorrow, I was wanting something really light and refreshing.

Yikes.

Some people are deluded, aren't they? Not that Paula Deen is one of them, but I certainly wouldn't call that nice and light, either! :noway:

I was watching one of her shows and I just happened to notice that in the 3 or 4 things she made she used 4.5 pounds of butter.

How does one use 4.5 pounds of butter in a 30 minute show?!

This is my kind of woman. I told my younger aspiring Rachael Ray fiance ( although mine is hotter and cooks better, hehe) That if I were older I'd be the biggest couger chaser out there for Paula. A key to a mans heart is through his stomach, apparently my better half knows this all too well, I think shes stepped up her game ever since I said that just to seal the deal ( it was sealed along time ago, shes stuck! LOL)

The only down side is I love to eat, she loves cooking, cookbooks, making desserts, etc which is a part of the reason Im on this site, I can't help but try her food. By the way you should look up the pumpkin gooey cake, it is off the chain! Gianda is really good too, being I got my girl literally evey RR cook book I had to move to another.

I proposed to my betterhalf on top of a 14k mountain with a personally signed cookbook from Giada's "Family Cooking" because I wanted to start a family with her. I found out the week before she just got it from her aunt, so I told her I know you just got this cookbook but this ones really special, open it up, she opens it up and shes Giada's personal message, then I say keep turning theres a reciepe in there, then about midway through she finds the section I cut out and taped the ring in there! Her first response was holy crap! LOL I though that was a no and I'd have to goto plan b ( plan b is if she said no I'd push her off the edge of a mountain) but of course it was a yes she just couldn't belive it!

Good I love cookbooks, Food Network, etc. I take recorded hours of Foodnetwork on my harddrive to take overseas to get me through the rough food. It kills me though seeing the steak and rib cook offs with bobby flay, as if missing my fiance wasn't enough already, tie a rib around her neck and we got issues!

She also makes a nice banana cream no sugar added pie with coconut milk, cool whip, and vanilla pudding...

But I do love her all the same.

I once saw her make fried macaroni and cheese. As if the homemade mac and cheese wasn't enough to clog your arteries she had to cool it, cut it in squares, wrap a fatty piece of bacon around it(mmmmm bacon) dip it in bread crumbs and fry it. GOOD grief woman are the people in your family even alive or have they passed on from heart attacks?!?!?!

I have to say her food does look yummy, but...it's also the food that makes people's hearts clog.

When my mom was heavier she looked ALOT like Paula. She has lost weight now and my dad said, "You don't look like Paula anymore." He's happy that she still cooks like her though.

Yes! I  Alton's show! Did you see him making the buffalo wings in the steamer and then baking them? They looked so good, but who's got that kind of time?

Paula Deen's food looks good, but it's the kind of good I only want to see at Grandma's house on the Holidays  All that butter!

I love Paula Deen but I never recreate her foods. She is like my drug... I watch her and salivate and pretend that I am chewing and savouring along with her. She'd be my personal chef in Heaven. hahaahha

But she does have a deluded sense of reality...now come on Paula.
