Struggling to reach 1200

Hey all,

I'm currently recovering from an eating disorder and trying to get my calorie count up to a decent level. I'm trying to focus on fitness now rather than skinniness but I still find myself not eating enough calories. Largely this seems to be because I don't eat junk food, I'm trying to eat as cleanly as possible.

Can someone look at my diary and maybe give me some feedback or tips?

I would say that you could start by ditching the cauliflower bread. You need to get higher calorie foods in your diet, so what about regular bread? (If you are really into eating clean, it's actually not hard to make all different kinds of homemade breads). Peanut butter, or a 1/4 cup nuts (that's like 200 calories). Cheese, or a cup of milk? Rice? Avocados are also higher calorie. Google is your friend, I bet you can find a lot of higher calorie foods that you could add in to your day.

I could give you the basic advice like use all whole eggs instead of egg whites--whole eggs are more nutritious and tastier to boot. Ditch the fat-free yogurt and at least try 2% if not full fat. Use butter or oil to cook your eggs and on your veggies. (Are you using cooking spray or something now?) Unless you have a gluten issue, try real bread (with butter and peanut butter) instead of the cauliflower bread, or in addition to it if you just like the cauliflower bread. Eat cheese! Eat avocados.

However, I'm concerned that you're eating as little as you appear to be some days. If you're logging accurately, you've eaten under 500 calories several days this week. Maybe you're just not into the rhythm of logging yet, but that worries me, especially since you're dealing with an eating disorder. Looks like you're struggling to eat at all, and that's not good. This may be more a question for your doctor and your therapist than for strangers on the internet.
