Cooked or Uncooked?

When it says, for example: 1 - 6 oz. hamburger. Does that mean 6 oz. of cooked or uncooked meat? That always confuses me and we're having hamburgers for dinner and I'm not sure if I should measure it before or after cooking. Is there a simple way to tell what is 6 oz. if I don't have a scale? Thank you all for your help!!!

I don't know about the cooked or uncooked, but I know most of the time a piece of meat or poultry or fish cooked measures about 4 oz if it's the size of your palm (or deck of regular cards if you happen to have giant hands). Don't know if that helps or not.

Yes, I've heard that too, but when you are putting in the food that you've eaten that day, it comes up with 1 - 6 oz burger. So, i was not sure how to measure that one out.

This is where I get/check most of my food values. It should tell you cooked or uncooked for them so you can see if its right. Hope that helps

Go with the cooked because otherwise I think it would read 'Hamburger-raw." There's plenty of meat on the list that read like that, so I say go with the cooked.

Just curious if anyone knows why my ticker is not showing up? It shows up on the 'Introduce Yourself' site but not here. :ohwell:

Hmm, try plugging in your code again and see if that helps. Can't figure out why it shows up there but not here.

Thank you!!! We love her! Her name is Katie Ann.

I'm putting the ticker code in again. I don't know if this is how I am supposed to do it or not, so here goes.

Ok, you used the wrong code that time--you used the one for blogs and such. Try again and use the code on the left--the one for bulletin boards.

I had a Sheltie-mix one time; she was about the most perfect dog I've ever had! Her name was Jefe (Spanish for Chief or Boss).

    Yipee! YOu got it!

No, it's automatic from here on it--if you pasted it into your signature then it's automatic.

Ok--just noticed it wasn't in your last post, so do this--

get your code again, copy it. Go to Home then Settings then Change Forum Signature. Paste your code into the block square there, click Save changes.

    Now, it should be automatic!
