Can diet change cause car sickness??

I've always had minor problems with car sickness and motion sickness but its never been like today, usually requiring 4+ hrs before it starts and never when I'm driving. I went to an appt that's about an hour away riding in the back seat and was reading for most of both ways. In commisseration with my granddad, who was having a PET scan, we didn't stop for breakfast, however, we stopped for large coffees at Waffle House. On the return trip I started having problems with motion sickness, having only been in the car a total of maybe 2 hours at this point in total. So we stop and eat on the way back home, I'm still having problems with it, get home my stomach calms but I go to run another errand a few hours later and it comes back while I'm driving. I practice a form of intermittent fasting so its normal for me not to eat until well into the afternoon. So I'm wondering could this just be the coffee from this morning, the lack of calories, or what I'm stumped. My diary is open and opinions and theories are much appreciated. Thanx.

If it's from today's log, I would be feeling pretty bad too if I had only had 899 calories. Most likely it's the lack of calories, sugar early in the morning coupled with caffeine, and the motion of the car with the reading that did you in today. Do you plan on eating later on today?

Yeah making spaghetti now. Thing is the amount of calories is normal, the reading is normal, all of it is normal except the car sickness.

Overall you're not eating much. Based on how much weight you want to lose I'm assuming you are a bit heavier, which raises your caloric needs.

So your body could just be catching up to your too-little intake.

Reading while riding in the car makes some people sick, especially if your prone to that type of thing. And if you didn't eat a lot, that could contribute to it as well.

Reading in the car does it for me, always has, though I have never gotten to the point of actually getting sick.

I repeat that ALL is normal except the car sickness. I'm not a morning eater that actually tends to cause problems for me and I've always read in the car if I'm not the driver, I'm too ADD to sit still and not occupy my brain for that long. I mean really the only change was instead of 20 oz coffee I usually have a 15 oz java monster, which has more caffeine enough to make even my overly caffeinated self shaky. The only thing I'm coming up with is that for the last 3 months or so I've been taking in less calorie wise but I'm still well over 1200 usually for a day closer to 1500 when I come in under.

And honestly it could be too little catching up, as I'm getting conflicting numbers between here and TDEE as a goal, and well yeah I'm relatively heavy for my height just carried it well. It's just I've hit lower for longer in the past without it messing with the motion sickness thing, had other not so fun problems.

Reading in the backseat always does me in. I can read in the front no problem. This in addition to the fact that you hadn't had enough calories for the day yet (lower blood sugar), more than likely caused it.
