A bag of kitty litter brings more determination than ever

Went grocery shopping tonight, no big deal right? Until I heft this big ole bag of kitty litter weighing 42 lbs into the cart and think ugh that is heavy. Now I was laughing at myself because I deadlifted 100 lbs the night before and here I am grunting at that little bag of kitty litter and it hit me --- I was carrying 43 lbs around less than 18 months ago. Whoa!

I have lots of weight to go but how often can you lift what you have lost. It was such a good visual for me and helped reconfirm why I am doing this.

Anyway, just thought I'd share my bright spot of my evening. Just wish it hadn't taken 30 minutes to check out of Walmart for that super bag of kitty litter ;)

it is such a buzz when u can visualise your loss!! same happened me a few weeks ago lifting our dogs 14kg bag of food.... whoa!!! heavy.... and then I realised I was carrying this 4 or 5 months ago  but it spurs u on for sure when u can physically see what you have lost!!! well done on your weight loss and keep up the great work!!! :drinker:

I hadn't given that much thought, but that's a good visual. Now I wanna go find something that weighs 60 lbs and carry it around for a while to remind myself

I think things like this quite a bit, to be honest.

I've lost over 80 pounds this year.

When I lug a 50 pound bag of kitty litter into my shopping cart, I can't help but wonder why I feel strain in my legs when I used to have an additional 30 pounds on top of that just to lug my own *kitten* around just a year ago, carrying nothing at all! And back then I still heaved giant bags of kitty litter into the cart, meaning it would be like putting a 130 pound bag of kitty litter int he cart today! (Yeah, don't see that happening).

OR, when my daughter passes out downstairs, and I have to carry her upstairs. Wow. I take each step carefully because, well, she's a big girl (not fat, she's just the size of most second graders is all). I actually worry about stepping wrong and straining something. Yet I used to walk up those same stairs by myself...AND while carrying her at my previous weight.

And to think I am actually STRONGER now than back then.

    Pretty weird.
